‘Desklets’ are small applications (applets) that run on your desktop, usually designed to perform a single, simple task. It is a solid operating system that comes with a desktop environment of its own (though it is based on Gnome Shell & its applications) and when it comes to usability & control, it really puts the users at the top. Linux Mint is a GNU/Linux distribution to which I have witnessed a great deal of respect.
